A mid century green glass vase
A mid century green glass vase
A mid century emerald green glass vase by the Whitefriars glass manufactory, the tapering form decorated with bands of dimpled decoration.
Founded in the heart of London near Fleet Street, the Whitefriars Glass Manufactory traces its origins to 1680, making it one of Britain's longest-running and most influential glassworks. Its name derives from the Carmelite monastery that once occupied the site-the monks' white habits earning them the nickname "White Friars." Despite its artistic success, the manufactory closed in 1980, ending over 300 years of continuous production.
