A rare George II mahogany partners architect's table of good colour and patination, the solid mahogany hinged top with a drop leaf that can be supported to double the surface area to a length of 115 cm, the top with two ratchet supports to work at either side while standing, a spring-loaded book rest on one side and a removable support on the other slope, with two slides either side, one with storage for pen and ink bottle, having a main drawer retaining the original handles and escutcheon, standing on solid chamfered and moulded legs joined by the original worn stretchers and resting on small brass castors.

An almost identical example sold at Christie's King Street, Fine English Furniture sale, 15th June 2000, lot 84.
