A fine George III tambour writing desk of Hepplwhite design, in fiddle-back mahogany with kingwood cross-banding and boxwood stringing, the top opening to reveal the original green leather-lined tooled writing surface with a reading slope, the frieze with two drawers standing on elegant tapering legs, retaining the original gilt metal handles throughout.
